Imitation poem
  “Graduation”
  Mid afternoon, very
  nervous, shaky,
  very impatient.
  Our caps, our gowns
  rustle with excitement,
  ready to be worn.
  All eyes on us,
  people greet us, congratulate us;
then begin to fill the room.
  The chatter amongst
  the students and families,
  engulf the building.
  The teachers and staff
  are waiting, anxiously,
  emotional and proud.
  This moment,
  seems so surreal,
  that it’s finally here. We
  All gather,
  into our lines,
  taking it in, waiting
  To be released.
  So many of us!
  So many of us!
  We are now one,
  Together we are mixed,
  We are family.
  Hearts pounding,
  this is the moment,
  we’ve all been waiting for.
  We shall be graduates,
  right after the moment,
  we enter that door.
