The cigarette smoke soars off my lips
And in that quick moment I taste you again
I miss the nights we’d lie in our bed
Bodies so close we were almost one

I remember your shadow in the door
I was begging you not to leave
You kissed me one last time
And you were gone, now only a memory

I breathe in the smoke and hold it
I want to savor you one last time
The cigarette smoke fills up my lungs
Once again, I feel whole

This is one of my favorite pieces that I've written. It is inspired by someone that you love. Someone that you feel like you cannot live without.
