Hers.

His.

Mine.

We all have them

We all see things we wish we didn't

And we wish we saw some things more often

Sometimes we see things that aren't there

But other times... we simply see nothing at all

Like when we close our eyes

Do we stop seeing?

Perhaps we see more in darkness

Some people say that

Just not me

What do I see?

I just see people

Faces.

Crowding the halls

Wishing someone cared

See, there are some things eyes can't do

Eyes can't see the future

No matter how hard they try and pretend

Our eyes are still stuck

Looking at the same old things

Those same old deceiving faces

But everything can be deceiving

Even the things and ones you love the most

Just look hard enough

Because one day...

You might see the truth in people

So yes,

We all have eyes

But the real question is...

Do we all use them?

The author's comments:

I was thinking about the quote "eyes are the window's to the soul"

And then I though about just how much eyes can do. I hope people get a little advice about seeing the truth in people
