Enlightenment
I don’t understand
How you can think so much,
And say so little.
If wisdom was fire,
Your mind would be an inferno
And if compassion was rain,
Your heart would be a tempest.
You have knowledge pouring out of you,
And intelligence radiates from every crevice of your body
Like a moonbeam in the shadows of night.
You can comprehend the language of learning
Within half a second of exposure,
And you can fathom the depths of human existence
With one look at a yearning soul.
So why is it that when one questions your worth,
You suddenly cannot think of one reason
To defend yourself?
Your presence can illuminate a room with enlightenment,
But you have yet to understand yourself.
