Loving Barefoot
I’d like to think love
is like
having a song stuck in your head,
where the beat of the song is the sound
between your heartbeats,
and I think
it might be like
walking barefoot,
letting yourself feel every
texture and temperature and shard of
glass,
and maybe it’s like
dancing and singing
and wandering and exploring
and helping and hurting and
breathing and never forgetting,
or maybe
it’s just,
simply,
loving
