Pretending
The Anger was surrounding our souls,
Overwhelming our hearts with destruction,
Heads filled with death threats,
And eyes screaming: “HELP!”
The others were staring
Waiting patiently for us to drown
Reaching for our hands at the last moment,
Pretending to be brave saviors.
Trail of hatred left behind,
Shadows of madness dancing in our spirits
We thought about this last moment of freedom
Taken away from us.
