Through the Window
The post meridian sun falls,
As I watch from my windowsill.
The night sky slowly encircles the light,
like it is swallowing a pill.
The sky is too captivating to look away,
the mix of purples, pinks, and blues.
I stay perched onthe sill for who knows how long,
just admiring the view.
Right when the wind holds a chill,
and sends goosebumps up my arms,
the moon and sun gracefully pass,
both with the utmost charm.
I crawl back in through my window,
my skin cold and my eyes heavy.
Sleep quickly comes as my head hits the pillow,
my body stills and my breathing becomes steady.
