Scarlet
Scarlet, just a simple shade of red.
Scarlet, often mixed in the morning sky.
Through our veins, courses scarlet blood.
Scarlet makes us human,
Scarlet makes us alive.
Scarlet is an apple, just about ripe.
Scarlet rust, wheezing as the train halts.
The clock ticks, it's scarlet hand counting down the seconds,
until we are no longer filled with the scarlet blood,
the scarlet blood that makes us human.
the scartlet blood that makes us alive.

It was an assignment for my creative writing class, we had to use the color in every line, so that's why it might seem a little repetitive! :)
