Monsters
I used to be afraid,
Of monsters beneath my bed.
Then one day to me, my mother said,
Honey, don't be afraid, there are no monsters beneath your bed.
Innocent eyes, took the words as law. I had it in my head, I knew, there were no monsters underneath my bed.
Growing older, insides turned dead.
No one understood.
Where monsters really lay, the things that they were fed.
I'm here to tell one thing, to those that are dead.
Those monsters, as my mother said, they aren't underneath your bed.
Those monsters,
They're all in your head.
