Distracted
I was sad, insanely sad. Then I got a distraction, a really good distraction that could make my worst day the best day I had ever had, and I fell in love. Then I lost it. I looked for another distraction and it worked for a little while, until it didn’t. Now I’m back at where I was before, but with less friends, and no distraction to distract me from the best distraction I’ve ever had. Once again I’m sad, insanely sad. Its as if I’m in a neverending hallway filled with door after door but the ones that I recognize, the only ones that I want to enter, are all locked. I start to run, but I go nowhere, passing the same doors over and over as if they’re mocking me, telling me they’re no longer there for me. I stop when I see a stream of light and feel relieved knowing that theres a place I can go, but the door is painted black, warning me not to enter. I push it open and see a dark room filled with smoke, a sweet smell engulfs me and even though I know I shouldn’t go in any further, I do. I get lost in this place because it eases my fears and makes me numb to what I’m feeling, and I find my new distraction.
