Scars
What are you?
And why are you here?
I don't know what you're from,
but you looked to be shaped like a bean,
even though you blend into my skin
almost perfectly.
You stand out in a patch of red skin,
but when the light shines on you,
I can make out how you've been.
I remember looking at you, from
time to time
over the years,
your almost saying
"Who are you?"
and
"How did I get here?"
And I guess that speaks to me,
you're almost saying
"I don't know why I'm here,
but I'm here
and whatevever memory
or time I hold,
I'm not leaving you to be alone."
