Roads Of Childhood
I realized I don’t see the faces anymore
The faces in the cars
The ones with the bright, winking eyes
The elongated smiles just above the wheels,
How long has it been?
When I was younger
I saw a moon that chased me wherever I went
A friend always with me,
No matter how far.
How long has it been?
I realized I don’t see the cloud factories anymore
The concrete castles that huffed and puffed
The cumulus in the sky
How long has it been?
When I was younger
Death was cured by a kiss
An intangible demon
Unbeknownst to me. How long has it been?
Sitting here,in this moving iron box
Watching the clouds of smog escape the factory
Illuminated by the lunar light and feeling
My thoughts marred by death
I wonder;
How long has it been,
Since the roads of childhood
began receding behind me?
