Loss At The End
Three pages after the ending,
A letter unread, still sending,
Minds functioning without a thought,
Pretty memories you forgot,
Philosophers with no smiles,
Athletes that cannot run miles,
Extra line's after the play's done,
Carnivals without any fun,
Promises that cannot be kept,
Teachers teaching with no concept,
Solutions at the beginning,
Contests with nobody winning,
Houses with no roof on the top,
Flying fireworks with no stop,
Clocks that do not talk, but make noise,
Brilliant leaders, except no poise,
The letter read after sending,
The novel folded from bending,
Fine flowers that choose to die,
Loss at the end, inside my eye.

I like to think of this poem as a result in the choices we make and the consequences that come with certain ones. Each line seems to have something ordinary to it, but with a twist that makes it lose something in the end.
