Twelve ways to look at Water
I
As a priest makes his way down the stage
He carries a book he speaks and
Dips the head of a young boy into the water
II
In the summer the young boy runs through his hair
Water flies about onto his sister mother and father
I scream dive in dive in and in one motion he leaps
III
In the fall I am still warm
Contained in a plastic water bottle
On the soccer field young children run and play
They shout and jump water running down their faces
IV
I freeze nearly in the winter occasionally
Mixed with water and coco powder
A warm mug contains me
Dancing with sharp razors on clear mirrors
People spin and dance
V
In the spring I see bright veggies
I stay in a purple water spout
Blossoms bloom and the scent of morning dew hangs
The lady watches her garden grow and change
Another year passes
VI
In the summer I fall from blackened skies
Water washes away springs chalk
The water misty and warm
Like little taps and a boom chika boom
Landing in valleys and filling streams
Lightning strikes the post and the lights go out
Water can still see
VII
In the Autumn I sing harmonies
Water covers everything in a frosty dew
I chilled the young children on the fields
Gave the old plants pints to drink
No one dived or spun on the watery mirror
The lights stayed on and another year had been drunken away.
