Barn Steps
As she sits there on them old barn steps,
She weeps at the laughter no longer heard.
For the willowing trees and swaying grass,
She remembers the memories of the past.
As once it was filled with hay, while cows surrounded.
She remembers the life once filled,
Now over the years of time the barn has lost life with no hay, or cows to greet.
It is then on them old barn steps, she realizes life once had,
Is life no more.

This poem was written dedicated to my PawPaws memory. I used to spend a lot of time as a child in that barn, but as I grew I spent less time in the barn loft. August of 2014 I lost my PawPaw due to Alzheimers disease and it was a hard time for me. So i write in his memory and hope readers find the same emotion I did writing.
