Habanera
I'd rather make war than make love,
A battle of wits, not emotions.
Every heartbeat another blow, a coup d'etat
of your state and body.
Love is not self-governed. This isn't a democracy!
Nothing is fair and that's not the same as "all is fair".
To freefall and crash is not romantic,
Cupid was not painted blind, he shut his eyes
from the sight of you and me.
Love is power and love of power and sex is a power play.
Love is evol, evil, live on evil love.
En garde a toi!
Love is a business, we sell ourselves for affection,
21st century w****s are we, consuming each other.
Consumerism, weapons of mass seduction,
We are all weapons of massive consumtion.
Everything is plastic and we're in love with plastic.
Lovers should update their dictionaries; "forever" and "divorce", "love and "hate", "till lawyers do us part".
New synonyms all.
Hate is a four letter word but so is love
So is my name
So was his
I'd prefer your corps as a corpse, une grande mort, pas petite.
Love is a game and we are all losing, nice guys finishing dead last.
Nothing lasts and everything comes last and our loved ones come first.
Me before you. My people before you. My land and my world and even my enemies before you. I'd rather them before you than behind you, retreat in surrender now I have you beat.
You and what army? I'll have you every which way, any which way, just so long as you go away.
It takes two to tango, only I did everything you did, backwards and forwards and in high heels
and barefoot.
Adieu monseignieur, for my frozen ice queen heart won't melt for you, for my dancing days are over,
and with them so are yours.

"Habanera" is the title of a song from the opera Carmen (which I highly encourage you listen to, it's fantastic! If opera isn't your taste, "Carmen" by Stromae is a parody with the same message) that degrades love as foolish and senseless. "En garde a toi" is an oft-repeated line from the song.
"Corps"- French for "body"
"Une grande mort, pas petite"- a big death, not small ("La petite mort" is a French euphemism for an orgasm).
