the steadiness of the ocean
nothing on the surface
complete calmness

then the waves came in
crashing hard
cutting into the pure, soft skin

the blood filled the clear, blue ocean
one drop turned the whole sea red 

she gasped for air
she was drowning in the thought of him

paralyzed and unable to breath
she closed her eyes thinking about the end  

there was nothing she could do
suddenly she became calm

everything stopped
she no longer searched for air

there was a steadiness to the ocean
absolutely nothing on the surface
complete calmness
