I Have a Heart
I have a heart of dust
Disrupted by the winds of life
I have a heart of glass
Fragile and shattered by strife
I have a heart of lead
Dragging me down to the sea
I have a heart of fire
Consuming all of me
I have a heart of gold
Soft, precious as anything
I have a heart of ice
Numb and slowly melting
I have a heart of stone
Heavily making bruise after bruise
I have a heart of holes
Empty with nothing to choose
I have a heart of wood
Riddled with redemption
I have a heart of wings
Soaring through the heavens
I have a heart of dirt
Washed daily by my King
I have a heart of gratitude
For the blessings that He brings.
