In these bodies we will live, and in these bodies we will die. And where you invest your love, you invest your life.

My biggest fear about going to college
Is not that I’m going to flunk out
It is not how am I going to be able to pay
Or what to wear to a football game.
It is being told it was my fault.

My biggest fear when walking down the streets
Is not who am I going to meet
Or if one of my heel’s will break.
It is being told I have no escape.

My biggest fear about walking out to my car
With my keys held in my hand as a weapon
Is not if it is going to start
Or if I forgot something at work.
It is being told it was my shirt.
Because women all over the world were told this;
That what they were wearing caused it
And that the fault was never his.

My biggest fear about life
Is not how I’m going to survive
But how am I going to live
When my basic human right to say no
Is slowly being deprived?

But who gave you that right?
Who gave you the right to tell me what to wear?
Who gave you the right to make me feel scared?
Who gave you the right to put me in captivity,
To bind me in chains of terror and put me in a box of ease
Who gave you the right to dictate my body
When you don’t know the first thing about me?
And who gave you the f***ing right to say
“Just protect yourselves it’s not that hard”
When a man twice our size comes at us with metal shards
When we said no.
So when we talk about women's safety
As a joke and nothing to be concerned of
Remember we are talking about life and death
And not the attention that we supposedly love.
Because the fact that someone can die
Just because she said no
Is not an act to be performed at a comedy show
Because my life, my fears, my safety
Is not a laughing matter.

This is awesome probably one of the best things I've read in a while. I totally agree with you women should be treated with respect and instead of teaching women to cover ourselves up men should be taught to respect women thank god some men are caring and understand.
