For You 5
When I first met you
Only a short few years ago
I never thought we'd be friends
Or get close to each other
After a while
We talked a lot at random times
I started looking forward to it
Each and every day
We lost contact with one another
Not intentionally done
When we met up again
I was astounded
That day I vowed
I'd fight for our friendship
I cherish it to this day
More than anything
I eventually realized
That I cared about you
More then a friend
And deeper then anticipated
I feel it in my heart
That I can tell you anything
No matter how dark it is
And you wouldn't hold it against me.
The thought of losing you
Brings me sorrow
And clouds my vision
It horrifies me
I would have never guessed
You would mean so much to me
I don't know about you
But I'm grateful
For you were brought into my life
And you reminded me
That there are things worth living for
Even on the darkest days
Night and day I pray
that you believe what I say
I know it will take time
For patience is the key
