These sounds are bouncing back and fourth between my ears

And on each lap they test my brain for a new opinion

They work their way down to my heart

And tear at the seams to reveal my feelings

 

They're saying the thoughts that I couldn't put into words

It's like this was made for me

The anger rampaging through the chords

It's everything that I hold inside

 

My heart is in time with the drums

Shaking all of the broken pieces

But then the lyrics touch my soul

And glue them back together

 

I feel the power in his voice

I hear the emotions overpower him

He strains to hold onto his words

But he's slipping into a wave of violent riffs

 

It slows down into a glorified blur

Sounds that were born to aggravate 

It cuts off and all that's left is feedback

The moment before I hit repeat


The author's comments:

My favorite band Nirvana and many other bands like them are what inspired me to write this song. I'm hoping that people can relate to the powerful affects that music can have on a person.
