I thought you were the one;
The one I would stroll with in the sun.
As we trot hand and hand through the field,
You held onto me like a shield.
What happened to that?
You were the highlight of my day,
I could spot your smile from miles away.
Like two peas in a pod,
You were the catch on my fishing rod,
What happened to that?
We used to spiel all night long,
Our connection was a beautiful love song.
Everyone assumed we were together,
I dreamt that it would last forever.
What happened to that?
