The Smoke
The smoke tickled me feet, crawling up my skin.
I feel it against my waist, and instinctively swipe it away,
  but it does not leave.
It crawls down my throat, leaving me gasping for air.
It swarms my lungs, I cannot breathe.
I feel it rush through my veins, my heart is pounding.
My knees buckle, I cannot carry myself anymore.
“Get away,” I yelp, crying for help.
But the smoke has reached my mind, and I can no longer think straight.
The smoke has swallowed my hole, and I am trying to find my way out.
