Socrates
Too many questions were asked
Their pride was wounded with intelligence
They could not understand
Embarrasment everywhere
But why Socrates? Why surrender?
Sometimes inquiry is a handicap.

Socrates was the said to be the wisest man in Ancient Greece by the oracle. He was a teacher, and questioned everything in order to learn more. That was his way of learning, and his way of teaching. Men were embarrassed of what he was teaching their sons: They thought Socrates was teachig them to think that Socrates was smarter than their fathers! So Socrates was put on trial, but did not defend himself for what he thought was a stupid cause. He knew that not defending himself would mean being found guilty, but still, he said nothing. Consequently, Socrates was sentenced with death for mocking the gods. In order to escape the Athenian people and the torture he would receive from them, Socrates took his own life by consuming poison. Let this be a lesson to all of those who bully the intelligent minds of our time: a lack of understanding does not serve as an excuse to wrongly accuse someone.
