"The real secret to success is enthusiasm."

Life isn’t fair.  I learned that at a
very early age.  Taken away and
placed with strangers, people telling
me they’re no danger.  But they were.
Beaten, broken, bullied, and abused
I wondered if there was good in the
world.  I was neglected, tormented,
and saw only evil.  No matter where I
went pain seemed to follow.  Drugs,
poverty, and death were so common
I saw no means to escape them.  Until
I found a new family.  They love me as
their own and treat me with respect and
dignity.  They show me without the ups
and downs life is nothing.  I began to see
hope at the end of a very long tunnel.  I
know I can’t alter my past, but I don’t
want to change it.  In my heart I feel like
Little Me always knew I would make it.
Life is like a race on a track: if you look
back you lose momentum.  But if you
keep moving forward you won’t fail,
you’ll only prevail.
