Times Change
There were days when things were pure and innocent,
But times changed and we aged.
We became what we feared most.
Now death was present and heartbreaks seemed infinite.
It seemed that only death would take away the hurt of a broken heart,
But in all honesty it lasts not very long.
Mama and Daddy grayed and lost all memory.
Memory of the days when they held you,
Memory of even your name.
Then death comes, and you lose that guiding hand.
That same hand that corrected your mistakes.
That same hand that wiped away your tears.
That same hand that changed as did life.
But even as the times change, God does not.
He promises to be the same yesterday, today, and forever.
