Something everyone knows him for. Something that made him a hero too many people.
Mandela was heroic during his childhood because he was persistent. For example when Mandela was 9 years old his dad died and that didn’t stop him for being the man he was. In other words Mandela was a fighter he never gave up. He never let anything get in his way. Another example is that he changed his name to an American name. He changed his name from Madiba to Nelson Mandela. As a child Mandela was persistent and never gave up.
Mandela was a hero during his adulthood because he was independent. For example Mandela went to college and became a lawyer on his own. In other words Mandela went to college on his own. He didn’t have help by anyone he did it all on his own. He went to college and chose his career all on his own with nobody’s help. He worked hard to become a lawyer. Mandela was very independent as a young adult. Mandela didn’t really have anyone to tell him what or what not to do he did what he want, what he thought he should do.
Mandela is a risk taker. Mandela took many risk. He is a risk taker because he took risk to be treated equal. Mandela risked his life trying to end apartheid. Trying to get as much rights as the whites did in South Africa. Trying to be treated the way he treated people with respect not the way whites treated him. He took risk joining the ANC. He took many risk trying to give equal rights to everyone in South Africa.
Mandela is a hero to many people for many different reason. Mandela went to jail for 27 years he could only get one visitor a year and get a letter every 6 months. After he got out of jail and became president and ended apartheid. And became a hero to many people.
