She had you wrapped around her finger,
Like a shoelace to remind her.
Eventually you will be untied,
And thrown away.
The task simply checked off as finished.
You had no idea.

 

She had you on a leash,
Dragging you behind her,
Using you to get to the top.
Your eyes glistened,
Like a lost puppy.
You slowly started to realize.

 

She dressed you up,
Never gave you a choice.
Put you up on a pedestal,
Named you her latest prize.
You needed a ladder to get down,
But there was none,
Trapped.
