Normal Teen
You have to wear the right clothes
That reveal a little too much
You have to listen to certain music
That’s just sounds and has no meaning
You have to have at least 300 followers
And make the same stupid duck face at 6 different locations
You have to say made up words
Like swag and piff
Or any other word that comes out of your mouth when you look at a picture
You have to shorten everything
And every sentence must have LOL in it
All your stupid duckface pictures have to have a #
(And don’t forget the stupid smiley face emoji)
Make stupid videos of you falling off a chair
and singing a song about another vegetable
You have to be a “normal” teen
Now, you may wear baggy T-shirts and leggings everyday
You may write your own songs that talk about your dreams
You may only have a few followers,
Mostly friends and family
And you may only post a picture
when something important happens
You may only speak with real words
And really laugh out loud
You may explain a photo
with words instead of symbols
(Not the stupid monkey covering his eyes)
You may make videos
to go with your songs
That last more than 6 seconds
You may be me……

This poem was inspired by the "normal" teens that people talk about. Not all teens sre like this, so I decided to write a poem about the differences between me and the "normal" teens.
