If Only
She tried not to be an unemotional stubborn brat,
and has a heart that really loves people
for who they are deep inside.
She tried to tell him that,
but it was Just a little too late.
He already thought she hated him, as the sun hates the moon.
With the words left unspoken,
he thought she didn't care about him.
Why did she always like to put on a front?
all it does is confuse loud silence with fiery anger.
This is not what she intended.
All she wanted was to love,
to be loved,
not to feel alone as she always did.
She needed him.
She used to be so happy with the way
he made her laugh until her eyes ran.
The way he used to make her begin to love herself.
The way he made that hole in her heart some how complete.
Why couldn't she make him complete.
She needed to feel something like that again.
She needed to not be afraid and know she’s going to be okay.
She needed to release all this pressure
that built up slowly inside her
and killed her with every day that went by
and doesn't leave any notice to the dark outside world.
Maybe now she knew what he felt everyday.
She needed someone to release her from this
horrible pain that ripped her apart leaving her frozen in place.
She needed to be broke free by someone,
telling her everything will be okay and soon all this pain
will not be for nothing and might even be worth it.
She needed to say “please don't leave me,
you mean the world to me,
even though I’m too afraid to show you, like the dark afraid of light,
according to me you are the light to my darkness.”
As she holds the umbrella the rain trickles down
matching the tears on her face,
Dressed completely in black,
she hunches over the tomb stone to lay a single flower.
She should have said “I need you”, but unfortunately there was
a time for it and the sand in that hour glass was already gone.
It was stolen by Heaven just like him.
If only she told him,
maybe she wouldn't be alone.
