As a child,
I ran, played, escaped the fear of growing up.
I was a teacher, a waitress, a mother, a princess.
I could be simply everything with no problems.
Now, I no longer run unless it is away from someone who cares.
I no longer play unless its with my heart.
I can’t escape growing up anymore
and thats what hurts the most.
I grew up to do things I said I would never do.
So much for innocence until marriage.
So much for a drug free life.
So much for being a good child.
I made more mistakes than
Learned lessons.
The saddest part,
I never got a chance to say goodbye,
Good bye to the innocence,
to the hope,
to the unconditional love that I have to now
fight for.
Children stay little because because heres a small tip,
never grow up; it’s only a trick.
