Beginnings Without Ends
We are souls,
Wandering,
In the forest,
Ear bones on the beach—
In a casket—
Leftover scraps that refuse to rot.
Take root with me
So we are trees,
Bleeding into the Earth,
Let us be one,
A haunting, mesmerizing,
Fantastical spirit;
That shines like St. Elmo’s fire in eyes,
Making angel halos around irises,
Water rings on glass.
Leave stains with me, on the universe.
Be a beginning that refuses to end.
