Bell Jar
Sometimes I think
That rain clouds
Aren’t really rain clouds
But all those cigarette puffs
I am convinced
That you exhaled them into a bell jar
And you save them
And when you feel numb
You open your bell jar
So that when the rain falls
You can feel something
Anything
And sometimes I think
That hurricanes
Aren’t really hurricanes
But all the angry cigarettes
I am convinced
You exhaled them all into a bell jar
And you save them all up for when
You realize how much you really hate the world
Then you lash out on all of them
Releasing hate and pain and death and destruction
You get your revenge
And I’m pretty sure
You’re the reason
They name hurricanes after people
