I'll Love a Man

I see him walk down the hall,

And butterflies flutter in my stomach.

I know that he knows he's cute,

He's got it all.

He has the perfect lips,

A collection of strong muscles,

And warm hands... plus, He's tall.

And he's slender from head, to toe, to the hips.

His laugh...

It brings me joy.

It cheers me up when I'm down.

But... Let's do the math.

Adam and Eve,

Man and wife,

Boyfriend and girlfriend,

Not Adam and Steve!

A man cannot fall for me.

It it taboo.

But is that real love then?

Why can I not be happy then?

To be gay is bad.

For me to love another man is verboten.

I am forced to love a woman...

And that's sad.

I remember a time,

When you'd get cooties from liking girls.

They were icky and sticky, and gross.

But NOW, to not be attracted to them is a crime?

When will people understand that love isn't just sex?

It's the draw,

The pull and passion and connection!

Loving who you love isn't a curse or hex!

They say God made us who we are on purpose,

They say he never makes mistakes.

And he loves us all.

He wouldn't just abandon us.

He cannot send me to Hell.

I believe God is pretty forgiving.

And he wouldn't punish me for how he made me.

He understands I'm not under a gay spell!

But someday... I'll love a man.
