You Were There
  Though most of the time
you were the root of my anger,
  you were there.
  Through the ups and downs,
  the rights and wrongs,
  you were there.
  Being your daughter
I love that I am much like you,
but I still fear the moment
  my kid will say,
  “At least you were there.”
  Because right now,
  you're not here.
And I hate that my words
  require past tense.

I was insipired to write this piece because at the time, my dad was not living with me, my mom, and brother. As stated in the peom, i am much like my dad and i fear that i will end up leaving. Looking at him, it scares me how much we are alike.
