Fernweh
I was standing on the front step
to set off.
For what?
Something new,
like a blank page of paper.
Something exciting,
like a rollercoaster.
There are so many places
in the world,
and I want to see
all of them.
All the Good,
all the Bad,
all the Unknown.
The beach.
The sun blinding my eyes,
the sand scrubbing at my toes,
the ocean smelling like salt.
All these people
laying around,
playing around.
The forest.
The trees making me dizzy when I look up to them,
the leaves falling like rain on me when the wind blows,
the green never being quiet even when nobody moves.
All these animals
jumping around,
trampling around.
The mountains.
The snow so white so innocent,
the rise so high so vertiginous,
the fall so bold so powerful.
All these people
skiing around,
wandering around.
The silent.
Crawling into every space,
that is not filled with sound and noise.
Changing moods,
to gloomy or to relaxing.
Thinking aloud,
being alone.
