I Woke Up
I woke up,
When the sun kissed the stars,
And the moon said
Good morning, then went
To sleep until the night.
I woke up,
And the rays of light masked
The dark, which only for a short
While went away.
I woke up,
For the day, for the few
Hours when nothing felt or
Looked so grey.
But then in good time,
The darkness took back from
The light, and the sun slowly
Died, and all I can do is wait,
For night to again be day.
