State of the Earth
If Earth was the Universe
We're talking in currency of
stardust and souls
Wouldn't every person be a galaxy
With a big, gaping black hole
to fill full of solar systems and matter
since each galaxy is too far
To fill with each other
If Earth was an Atom
We're talking currency of
subatomic particles and people
Wouldn't each soul be a particle
With a charge of their own
Bouncing off each other
Communicating but not connecting
If Earth is so full
Why are we so empty?
If 7 billion is so much
Why are we are so little?
For so many, we are pitiful
The distance is staggering
The hate is suffocating
The communication is trifling
Either side of the scale of size agrees, Earth is decrepit
for we have shaped it to be
