Popularity
You used to matter so much to me
Made me count every calorie
I lost so much and you made me cry
The things I said lie after lie
Fake a smile
Hold it a while
I did things I would never do
Said, “I love this” when its not true
Backstabbing, lying, and many tears
Just to be accepted by my peers
But I’m done with you
And this is the truth
There are more important things that matter
Not popularity and mindless chatter
You are temporary and unimportant
And though it has taken me years to know it
I am strong and I am capable
I am not weak; I am stable
I am finally free
From your custody
