The Power of Love
When we first locked eyes, it was no surprise,
I had never seen so much beauty before,
Her radiance drew me in, I couldn’t help but grin,
All I could think of, all I wanted, was more.
Right from the start, I could feel it in my heart,
The love between us was natural,
Any doubt, any regret, any past lover’s debt,
She repaired me, she made my heart whole.
Now I have to leave, there are dreams I must achieve,
Off to college, I will solemnly go.
But one things for sure, no matter what may occur,
I'll work to be my best; I’ll do it for her.

My own personal relationship, as well as conversations on high school relationships with my peers, inspired me to write this piece. My hope in writing this piece is that other teens can realize that a relationship in high school can be positive, and be a motivation for hard work towards success.
