Remember the roses
If you knew that I cried myself to sleep every night
Will you take me to the place where the sun shines?
Where the children laugh instead of cry?
Where there is not a fear of pain or hatred we feel?
Will you hold me in your arms at our childhood place
And tell me you love me one more time
And if we stand on the lake with the sunset behind us
Will you kiss me once again?
And sing the song we danced to in the summer nights
When we didn't hurt each other or ourselves
Just forget the words we screamed at each other
All these months ago when the scars of our loss were fresh
Can we forget the scars and remember the roses?

This piece I wrote after a hard break up for me, through this poem i was able to tell him what I wanted without saying it directly.
