Concavity
The metronome of numbers
Drags me from my sleep.
Increasingly urgent thoughts
Tell me to
Remember.
My hands explore, reach for
Protrusions of bone under skin.
Flat is insufficient;
I strive for concavity.
Wisps of memories
From happier days
Drift back to haunt me.
I realize that
I’ve never been so afraid
Of something meant
To keep me
Alive.
