Life is as strange as math
With challenging Calculations
Our trust is as naïve as friendship
One must be cautious
Minds as sharp as pencils
Sometimes chipping
Belief as ancient as time
But our hope as fragile as glass
One disturbance equals an unmendable crack
The truth as horrendous as murder
Death as sudden as a snap
Leaving your sorrow as deep as the ocean
Unknowing when it will end, if ever, and what lies hidden
The darkness as cold as fear, suffocates
Your soul as blue as the sky
Tears as exhausting as rain
Through the mist figures to stand
True friends as strong as a wolf pack
Waiting to welcome you to the ranks
Surviving through the storm
Forest blackened from the fire
The change is as magical as a tree
Starting off small and sprouting upward
A scar still lingers as obvious as a hole in a tree
But you spread your branches wide
Welcoming the next equation
