The Ladybug
The ladybug came back today
Same as it did yesterday
And the day before that
Every day I see this ladybug
Its sapphire shell with dots of black paint
Shimmering in the rays of August sun
The ladybug is the only constantly fixed point
In this ever changing world
Every day I see this ladybug
It’s running a marathon on my windowsill
Fighting
Trying
Willing
Yet never fully making it to the finish line
One day, the ladybug was not there
The ladybug that I see everyday
Is
Not
There
Every day I saw a ladybug
And now it has fluttered away from the confines of my windowsill
Every day I saw a ladybug
And that one ladybug has taught me more about life
Than any person in this ever changing world
