Bird Rock

From the tumbling turbulence of the turquoise sea,
A single bird seeks a haven
Where it may enjoy its hard-won catch.
In the distance, it spots a rock
Isolated
Off the rough and unforgiving coast.
This sanctuary is welcoming -
He flies over to a little crevice
Where he sits undisturbed.
Though he soon discovers
Other creatures
Have come here, too
Separated, yet united
By the rock.
