Stillness and beauty,

Echo across the plains.

Stars fade.

Dawn nears.

Helios drives his chariot

Upon the receding waves of darkness.

Strands of gold ignite the awakening world.

An edge of a golden orb invades the horizon line.

All that has once tarnished our past

Now is forgotten.

Erased from memory.

For a new day,

Means a new beginning.

And as history is made,

Another day ends,

And life is rewritten

In the minds of humanity.

And the cycle continues,

Until the ennd of time.

Forever and always.

Life goes on.

The author's comments:

I was inspired to write this poetry piece when I stood back and watched the world go by for a couple seconds. I realized then in that moment that mistakes from the past should not affect humanity's present and future. How many times has someone said "history will repeat itself." A lot. But, that doesn't have to be the case. Humanity should learn from its mistakes and not make the same ones over and over again. Each day is a new beginning just like my poem states.
