Knowledge is power

If you have a good memory, you pass

Chained to a desk for eight hours a day

Freedom of speech

Raise your hand if you have something to say

Eighteen years this goes on

You're launched into the real world

Figure out what you want to do

For the rest of your entire existence

Regardless if you want to or not.

Good thing we know how to graph an equation

Little awareness of what's actually going on in the world

Ignorance isn't bliss.

Acquiring information of history,

Seeing it repeating itself

Art isn't required

But you would love to learn Biology.

This poem is four stanzas with fourteen lines.  It is a memory poem.  The poem reflects the typical Amercian student and how they feel about the education system in this country and their frustrations towards that.
