Hospital Fire
The space is small, but
The stench of Alcohol, lingers here.
I promised them I have no child
But, they didn't believe me
The heat from the other side
Starts creeping in, slowly
They are screaming I can hear them
Yet, the metal handle just won't turn.
My dress is light blue
It seems to swirl around me
As my head starts to spin
It won't be much longer now
I push, bang, scream, and kick
With every ounce of energy
My heart beats fast, and
I cannot stand any longer
The heat it's intoxicating now
Smoke is all around me
Their screams are fainter
And I am falling asleep, never to be awoken.

This is based partly on a real life experience, and partly on a dream. I had a very bad injury and was taken to a hospital where I needed Xrays, but first had to take a pregnancy test (as a precaution). In a dream I had reliving this experience, the bathroom door got stuck and I was trapped slowly and painfully suffocating.
