Escalators
Time ticks by,
faster and faster,
its coming closer and closer.
They don’t really know what’s going on.
They expect the best
but I’m no where close
I’m not the person they think I am.
I’m not the person they want me to be.
I’m just me,
no one special
But
still time moves on
the pressure is on
The end is coming.
The more I push it away the faster it comes
Don’t put pressure on me!
Still it comes
faster and faster
I can’t escape
no where to run,
no where to hide
Suddenly it’s here.
All my fears
the unknown,
letting go,
being on my own
The day I can’t hold your hand on the escalators.
