The Criticisms of Cults and Ignorance

People look at the world and think
No way could it be luck
That something so beautiful came up
How one life works with another to continue to thrive
How it couldn't be possible that WE put meaning into our lives

A book of stories
Written by ancient old men
To keep other people
From rebelling against them

The story of one man,
And his omnipotent father,
Inspire men to head out
And participate in the slaughter;
To show that their God
Is more benevolent than the others

I am an atheist, and I believe in secularism. This piece was inspired by Epicurus' "Epicurean Paradox", as well as some of the common claims theistic religions make about their deity. Each stanza holds some sort of criticism, refutation, or answer/response to a claim made by in favor of a religion or deity. As I live in the States (USA), the content of the poem is directed a bit more towards Christianity, as this is the major religion here. I apologize if I terribly offend anyone.
